:: The Road to Recovery

The day is ending and things are looking positive for the corrupted hard drive of death. I've got it running and am in the process of recovering data from the messed up areas. I had a really hard time finding a program that could extract information from .CHK files (the format windows saves unknown data as when your watching a few different pornos at the same time limb-style and your girlfriend walks in and your like, "Shit!" as you smack 'alt+f4' twelve times and in the process, seize your computer then you're like, "Fuck it" and press the big button on the case and when it reboots you get that screen with the "you messed up earlier dude.. man, I'm gonna have to check everything over if you don't hit a key in 10,9,8" prompt which, when allowed to run, usually finds a bunch of problems and automatically saves the files it finds to be evil aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas... .CHK files!) and for some reason.. It's hard to find a program that does anything with these files, yet Windoze spits em out like sunflower seeds. If you ever need to open one, here's a good site. If you have a massive corruption take place these tools are indispensable. If you only lose a file or two you can usually just rename the .chk files back to their original name.

I have a hurtin crapper load of sound files recovered which are no doubt our jam stuff. Looks like the geek was in my favor this evening.

Enjoy that thing.
